Halloween NA Challenge: Candy Corn

Like the title already says, today's theme is "Candy Corn" and I have to admit that I had no clue what to do for this. I've never eaten Candy Corn in my entire life and I had no idea how it really looked like (until I googled it) ...I just new it was something orange/yellow from other nail art I've seen so far.
I was very uninspired and that's why today's nail art is not my best work ^^

For the gradient I used a white base and sponged Essence - Sundancer and Essence - Get the Fever on top.

So this is it, I removed it immediately after I took the photos, just so I could paint my nails with the spiderman design :D (Which I like much better than this one)

You better go check out the other ladies and look at what they came up with ;)

Zebra Swimsuit Nail Art Tutorial! =)

Hello, my lovelies!

Here is the tutorial for my latest nail art! Enjoy :)

1. Apply a base color of your choice!
2. Tape your nail off diagonally and paint the nail with a white polish. If you don't want to use tape, no problem! The line doesn't have to be perfect, cause it'll be covered up anyway ;) Just use a nail art brush and freehand it!
3. Paint the zebra print with black ... or you could do a leopard print as well! ;)
4. Now take a thin nail art brush and paint a thin line with a sparkly color that matches your design along the white part of your nail.
5. Let it dry a little bit and add a top coat of your choice! And you are done :)

Pretty easy but so eye-catching! You could do many different designs on the white part though! Leo print, dots, stripes ...you name it! :)

Here is a pic of the end result again (sorry for the tip wear, but I wore it for 3 days now!)

I hope this tutorial was helpful to some of you! :)
Have a nice weekend! :*

Zebra Swimsuit!

Hey there!

I would have posted something earlier but I wore one of the Mirrorball polishes I swatched in my last post for a whole week and now that I took it off, I finally have something new to show you! ;)

Oh boy, I love O.P.I's Swimsuit .. Nailed it!, the polish I used as a base for this nail art. It's probably my favorite blue ever !! (Thanks again Kaki for this beauty!!)
I mean, look at that shimmer and that perfect shade of blue ... so beautiful! But enough about that. So, I used that polish (hence the title :D) and Essence Silver Surfer, Flormar Black Tip Painter and Nail Collection Nr. 1.

I don't know why my skin looks a bit green-ish ... maybe I should stop taking pics at night?!

Anyways, I would love it so much to have a swimsuit with this pattern and color! Now that would be amazing! ;)

I hope you like it, my lovelies! And I also have a tutorial for this nail art, that I probably post tomorrow :)
Thanks for reading and see ya! :*

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - Rue/District 11

Hellooooo! :D

Finally I managed to do a design based on Rue! I know someone requested it and here it is! It's kind of a mani for District 11 and Rue. Since she is representing District 11, the district of agriculture, I thought it would be perfect to combine these 2. I don't wanna spoil the movie/book for someone who hasn't seen or read it yet, so I won't say too much, but the ones who already saw the film or read the book, will know by what I was inspired ;) ... I hope :P

This is how I pictured the whole "scene" around Rue, while I read that passage in the book :)
I only used a dotting tool and these polishes:
NC Matte - Nr. 4 (base), Art de Lautrec - 200 (white), Flormar U09 (purple), Flormar U24 (pink) and Milani 3D Holographics - HD.
This could also be a good spring manicure :) I'm not completely satisfied about how this turned out, but I hope you like it and let me know, what manicure you would have done for Rue. I'm curious! :D
And the flowers kinda reminded me of this ring I have :)
So! Since I got some more ideas for this series and some of you want to see more, I will post 3-4 more designs, but I will post swatches or something else in between as well. Is that alright? :)

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! :)

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - The Capitol

Where should I start ? I adore the Hunger Games books and I can't wait for the movie to come out!! I'm obsessed with this... I read the 3 books in 6 days, although I had classes and a lot of studying to do, ... oh well :D
So I asked on my Facebook-page if I should do a Nail Art Series inspired by HG and I got only positive feedback! To be honest - I would have done it anyway :D I have 16 designs, that I came up with last Thursday during class =)) Let's start with the first one, so ...
Let the Hunger Games Nail Art Series begin !!

I thought doing the Capitol logo first would be a good start, since it's like the capital city of Panem. I think this manicure also was the hardest of them all. Here is the inspiration:
I tried to fit the whole logo on the nail, but I didn't manage to do it, so I chose to paint only the eagle.
I used 2 coats of NC Matte, Essence - Mysterious Black for the lines and an Essence Nail Art Pen for the eagle. I was so excited about posting it, that I didn't had the patience to let it dry and add a TC afterwards without smudging the design :D So there only is TC on the other nails :P
To answer your question: Yes, it took me long to do this =)) But it was worth it!
The other nails are just white with the black lines at the tip, which is inspired by the outfits of the Peacekeepers, a police force controlled by the Capitol.

I hope you like this idea of the Nail Art Series and let me know what you think about it!
Also: are you as excited as I am about the movie? :D

What do you wanna see next? Nails inspired by a district or by a main character ?

Christmas Challenge Day 9 - Red & Green

It's Friday!! Finally :D I still have a test on Sunday (yes, you heard right, on SUNDAY!) but still ;)
Today's theme was a bit difficult...why? Because it's rather vague. I asked my readers what I could do with red and green polish and one of them said: a mistletoe!  Thank you for that idea, FrugallyMe ! :)
I kept it simple, so here is my Red & Green Mani:
I used: Avon Ruby Slippers as a base (@MissDoll: a little preview from your requested swatch), Aden - 86 (green), Nail Collection Matte in White for the dots and Essence - Golden Sands for the little bow.
Simple but cute :)
I'm really curious about the designs these ladies came up with :D
Have a good night and see ya tomorrow ;)

Christmas Challenge Day 8 - Candy Canes

First off I wanna thank you for all the support and all the nice comments you leave me, they just make my day :)
With that said, let's move on to today's challenge: Candy Canes !
I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps as a base and Nail Collection Matte in White for the Candy Canes. Ruby Pumps is just beautiful! I think it's one of my all time favorite polishes :) Although my pics don't show the whole beauty of this color.
Let's see what these ladies did for today's challenge:

Tomorrow's theme is "Red/Green" and I have no idea what to do with my nails :))  I could use some inspiration from you guys ;)
Thanks for stopping by and see ya tomorrow ;)

Already Day 6 ? Time really flies when you're having fun ;)
Theme for today is "Penguins"! How sweet is that ? Here are my little fellas:
I love their eyes :))
Let's see what I used: Essence - Fatal (my go to black polish), Nail Collection Matte in White and Essence - Sundancer.
Penguins are so adorable! That's why I can't wait to see all the other cute designs by these ladies:
See ya tomorrow with some yummy Gingerbread Man ;)

Nail Art Monday Nr.10 - Hearts ♥

Hello, my dear readers!
There are now 203 of you! I can´t believe it :D I´m doing this since April and I never would have thought I´d have so many readers by now ... wow :) I thank each and every one of you, for reading my posts, sharing them, comment on them :) I love what I do and I love it even more, when I see that other people appreciate it ;)

This week on PAA, the theme was "hearts", and there couldn´t have been a better theme to show my readers some love :)
This was inspired by a technique I saw once on My Simple Little Pleasures, but I don´t know which post it was. It´s very easy and quick to do, but the effect is awesome. :)
I used: Essence - Back to the 50´s (red) and Nail Collection Matte Nr. 4 (white). The light was not the best today, otherwise I would have done a swatch
of the red polish :)
Have you ever tried this technique before ? :) Let me know!

Have a nice evening ♥
