Valentine's Day Challenge - Glitter Hearts

Hello again! :)

Today is already the third challenge out of 6! How time flies :D
I wanted to do some crazy make-up, I already had 1-2 ideas, but I'm still so sick...my nose is red and my skin is so dry from all the tissues I had to use and I don't feel like doing make-up at all ^^

But I will do one for the next challenge, I promise ;)

For today I have some cute little glitter hearts for you:

I used Essence Black is Back as a base and painted the hearts on with Art de Lautrec 18 first, because the red glitter polish I wanted to use is pretty sheer! Finally I added Avon Ruby Slippers on top of the red and finished it with one coat of TC.

It's simple and with some little fantasy you can see the hearts! :D Looking at the nails now I realize they could have been more sparkly and glittery!

Hope you still like them :)

Thanks for reading my lovelies and see ya soon! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 8: Metallic Nails

Hello my lovelies!

I have to do 3 posts today, so this one will be a short one :D

Today's challenge is metallic nails and don't worry, I will post yesterday's challenge later ;) I didn't forget about it! :D

I started with Avon Gunmetal as a base (perfect for the metallic challenge don't you think?) and with a thin and long nail art brush I added Essence BBC Golden Sands in a triangular shape.

Doesn't it look like some molten gold is running down the nails? This polish is amazing!

I will really miss this polish when the bottle will be empty :(
Do you know any other golden polishes that look similar? Please tell me :D

Thanks for reading and see ya later! :)

Summer Challenge: Favorite Summer Song

Already the third challenge ?!! Time flies :)
Today's theme: Favorite Summer Song

Let me tell you, this was a hard one!! Phew :)) Why? Well, many reasons! At first I didn't know what my fav summer song is ... but then I realized which one it is! .....DANZA KUDURO!
Oh boy, I adore this song :D It's exactly the kinda music I like, it's the soundtrack to my favorite movie (Fast Five!!) and it's my ringtone ever since it came out =))
First problem solved....but then I had no idea what to paint on my nails, that could represent this song! After a little brainstorm I came up with some ideas, but then came the next problem: how the heck should I transfer that to my nails??
In the end I solved that problem too, I just made some sketches and everything was fine :D

Here's the song, in case you don't know it, but then again you must live under a rock, if you never heard of it =))

And here is what I did on my nails:

Oh yes, it's the Yacht from the first scenes of the music video ;)
I worked really hard on this one and I reeeeeally like the outcome :D
On my thumbs I wrote the song title:

DANZA KUDURO! ... oi oi oi  ..sorry, I'm listening to the song right now and I'm singing along =))
Here is the sketch I talked about earlier:

I initially wanted to do some kind of gradient on my thumbs, but I did some waves instead :P

So tell me: what's your favorite summer song??? :)

Shimmer Gradient

Hey there beautiful people!!

I am so sorry for not posting for a whole week! :( I was crazy busy and I started studying for all my exams in June and I kinda neglected my blog... I think I have to catch up on more than 1000 posts !! =))) That will be fun :D
I wanna show you the mani I wore for 4 days! Since I took it off on Friday, I had naked nails though. OMG, naked nails!?!?? Yeees, I don't like it either, but I didn't had the time to put on some paint. :P

Here is the shimmer gradient with purple and turquoise!
I used Catrice - Forget-Me-Not and Avon - Sequined Turquoise. It's not that visible in the photos but in real life the gradient was so much better!! Those two polishes/colors are my absolute favorite ones of all times and I thought I could combine them. I have to tell you though: I wasn't sure at first, if they would go well together. But I was amazed at the end result!!
I used the sponging technique from Sammy @The Nailasaurus .. that's how it looked before clean-up:
Pure chaos =)) But after clean-up:
That's better :P That's also the most accurate picture :) *sigh* I adore it! I could wear this every single day from now on! But I won't .. I have other pretties in my stash that want to be on my nails =))

Do you like gradients? What color combos do you like??

Have a good night and thanks for reading!!
*muah*

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - District 4

Long time no see! I'm sorry for not posting, but I wanted to wear that cool lightning mani for a few days and I also had an anatomy test today, and I had no time to do anything. Good news: I did pretty good on the test and I now have some free time again, yay! :D
Today I have another favorite mani of mine from the whole HG Series, and it's inspired by District 4!
Yep, it's the District of Fishing :) I immediately knew what I wanted to paint! I did some sponging with different blues, to create kind of a mermaid look and then added some fishnet along the sides to the tips. One of my favorite characters, Finnick Odair, is from this district, but we'll have to wait for the second movie to see him in action ;)
You may know that I adore blue polishes, so this manicure is like the best thing I had on my nails for a while! I love it so much! :D The 3 different polishes don't show as much as I would have liked. In real life I can see flashes of green, so it looks more like a mermaid but on the photos, mhm.. not so much!
I used: O.P.I Swimsuit .. Nailed it! (again :D), Avon - Sequined Turquoise and Accessorize - Mermaid (how appropiate :D). Now these 3 polishes are my all time favorite nail polishes! I almost forgot: for the fishnet I used Essence Silver Surfer Tip Painter.
EDIT
I have to add another and better picture of this mani, now that I have daylight :P

Also a little bonus pic:
I was playing around with my cam and of course Kiara had to be my photo model :D

Thanks for reading and may the odds be ever in your favor! ;)

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - District 3

Hello again!
How are you all doing ?
I promised another district inspired manicure, so here it is! I chose District 3 for today, the district of technology.
Do you see the gear wheels in the poster? I knew I had to do them on my nails, the minute I saw them :) Here they are:
I used: Avon - Gunmetal, Rimmel - Your Majesty, P2 - Dramatic Black and a dotting tool. :)
I really like how this turned out! And it was easy to do too ;)
What do you wanna see next ? Any preferences ? :)
I'm still trying to do the mutts, so they won't be next, sorry! Maybe I should try to do Rue?

Essence - Waking Up In Vegas . . . or awesomeness in a bottle :)

Sometimes I just don't get me :)) I wanted this polish sooo bad and I didn't even wore it once since I got it back in December. I don't know why, because it's AWESOME!
Attention!
Picture Spam ahead :P
This is one coat of Essence Waking Up in Vegas over 1 coat of Avon Wicked. Wicked is actually a very dark red polish with shimmer, which inspired me to top it of with the flakies. :)
The Essence flakies are very dense and I had to be careful to apply just a thin coat, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to see the polish underneath :) I also had to add a little bit of thinner to it, because it was a bit thick.
The following pictures show you the color change from green to red:
Wow!! I have no words for this :P Most of the time the flakies look like on the picture above, mostly red and orange but in daylight they look amazing! Look:
The last picture kinda reminds me of Jamaica, cause of the red, yellow and green :D
This is my very first flakie polish and I'm glad I stressed out my mom to get me this beauty. I think she went to every store in the city to find it and eventually she did. Thank you so much mom!! :))

Do you like flakies? Which ones are a must-have? :)
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

New Years Eve manicure :)

I wish you all a ...
May 2012 bring you much joy and happiness and may it be even better than 2011 ;)

I planned to post my new years eve mani yesterday, but I was very busy, so here it is today on the first day of the year :D
I was inspired by a mani I saw once on OMG Polish' Em! and I just love it!! Now I finally had the time to do it :D Initially I wanted to use other colors, but this ones matched my outfit better ... this way  it also comes even closer to the inspiration picture :P
I used: Avon - Gunmetal (as a base), Essence - Can't cheat on me (sponged over Avon), Essence Glitter Topper - Hello Holo and Art de Lautrec in Black (dots)
Blurry picture to show you the pretty holo glitter! :D As always it's so much better in real life :P
Now some of you may say.."wait a minute! I now that dotted image!" Yes you do :D It's from the Konad image plate M60. Since I don't own it I had to use a dotting tool...but let's be honest, even if I'd own it I wouldn't be able to stamp a clear image :)))
I love it so much that I don't want to take it off :D

Hope you like it and I wish you all a good start in this year!
See ya next time ;)

Christmas Challenge Day 23 - Santa

Last theme in this challenge! Cause tomorrow we can recreate our favorite challenge :P
Santa kinda looks scared :P But I still like him ;)
I used: Avon - Ruby Slippers, P2 - Flirt & Tease, P2 - Hyper and Art de Lautrec Black and White.
Can't wait to do tomorrow's mani :D

Check these ladies and their Santa's out:

We just have to sleep one more time and then Santa comes! What are your wishes this year? :)

Christmas Challenge Day 13 + Day 14 - Christmas Tree with Ornaments :)

I'm sorry, that I missed one day, but I had so much to do yesterday for the university. Only 2 more days and it's over and then...vacation! :D Yes ;)
Luckily for me the theme's for these 2 days are easy to combine: Christmas Tree and Ornaments ;)
And here are my nails:
I love the Christmas tree! The angel ornament didn't turn out like I wanted to, but it's alright :) I used Aden 86 (as a base and for the tree) and on the ring finger I used Avon - Red Velvet as a base. If you wanna know any of the other colors I used, feel free to ask ;)
The green polish bubbled like crazy on my index finger.. idk why, it never happened before with this one. Oh well, it had a bad day :D

Take a look at all the beautiful trees and ornaments on these ladies nails:

Christmas Challenge Day 9 - Red & Green

It's Friday!! Finally :D I still have a test on Sunday (yes, you heard right, on SUNDAY!) but still ;)
Today's theme was a bit difficult...why? Because it's rather vague. I asked my readers what I could do with red and green polish and one of them said: a mistletoe!  Thank you for that idea, FrugallyMe ! :)
I kept it simple, so here is my Red & Green Mani:
I used: Avon Ruby Slippers as a base (@MissDoll: a little preview from your requested swatch), Aden - 86 (green), Nail Collection Matte in White for the dots and Essence - Golden Sands for the little bow.
Simple but cute :)
I'm really curious about the designs these ladies came up with :D
Have a good night and see ya tomorrow ;)

Christmas Challenge Day 4 - Snowman

Hello, my dear readers! :)
Sorry for posting so late, but I went on a short trip to Hungary and I came back later than expected :P
Today's theme is Snowman! I'd love to build one right now, but we have no snow here, because the weather decided to make it so warm like in spring outside :))
Does it snow where you live?
This design was made in a hurry, but I like it :D
I used: Sensique 252 as a base and Art de Lautrec - White, Essence - Get the Fever, Avon - Ruby Slippers and Essence - Fatal.
I'm excited to see the other cute snowmen, made by these ladies:
It's so fun watching everyone's designs and interpretations of the themes. :D
Well, have a good night now! See ya ;)

Today's Swatch: Avon - Grey Cement + Avon Haul

Hey there!
Oh gosh, I'm so excited about tomorrow!! If your new here, or maybe just missed it: this is what I'm so excited about :D Can't wait to start and see all the other Nail Designs, from the ones who participate ;)

So, today I am showing you another gorgeous polish from Avon! I'm falling in love with this polish brand ;) It's Grey Cement, a matte polish, which is the perfect grey! Not to dark and not to light...just gorgeous!
The application was a bit hard at first, because this polish dries within seconds! So you have to be fast...and I mean fast as lightning, no kidding :) Even if you manage to apply it evenly, you'll still see some brush strokes (1st pic), but they're not that noticeable in real life. I used 2 coats.
All in all I love how matte it is, because some other matte polishes I own, have more like a satin finish. That's why I ordered the other 2 matte polishes, that I don't already have, from Avon, so I have them all. They're just so cool :D
And here are the ones I ordered this month:
 From left to right:
Ruby Slippers, Violetta Sparkle (swatch here), Gunmetal, Blue Shock
Inky Blue, Grey Cement, Red Velvet
I really like the names of the polishes, because they describe them perfectly ;) But why couldn't Avon manage to put them on the bottles as well? I had to cut out the names from the boxes they came in and tape it on the cap :P
If you know some other cool Avon polishes, that are just a must-have, let me know!

See ya tomorrow with the first Challenge!!! Yey :D

Nail Art Monday Nr.11 - Fierce Accent

Heeey!
I took a little pause from blogging, cause I had a lot of going an with uni and stuff (I had 3 tests only last week) but now it's going to be more relaxed, so I can post regularly again :) Starting Thursday I will post a Christmas Nail Art everyday! That will be fun :D
So today I was swatching some colors, and one of them was Avon - Violetta Sparkle. This is a dark purple polish with fine golden glitter in it. The application was tricky at first, I had to use 3 coats on the first nail, cause I couldn't apply it evenly. As I was moving on to the other nails I got the hang of it and I had to use only 2 coats. So application is fine, if you're careful. When I ordered this polish I thought it would be a lighter purple with silvery glitter, judging by the photo in the catalog. So I was a little bit disappointed, but the polish is still pretty :)
It was really hard to capture the real color and the glitter. If you enlarge the photos you can get an idea of how it looks.
 With flash.
The purple is a little lighter in real life.
I thought about pimping it a bit, so I added P2 Crackle TC - Golden Rush. I realized something funny today ... I always start painting my ring finger and then go on and paint the other ones. :))) So this accent nail happened by accident and since today's theme at PAA was "Fierce Accent Nail" ...well, perfect! :D
I know a reader requested the swatch of this particular polish, so I hope she's happy with it! =)
Do you have any funny habits of painting your nails ?
Have a good night!

Today´s Swatch: Avon - Sequined Turquoise + Mini Haul

Hello, my lovelies! :)
Today I got a little haul for you and a beautiful swatch :) Let´s start with the polishes I´ve bought the last week:
Finally 2 more beautiful O.P.I´s in my collection :) Sephora opened a shop here in my city and they have some awesome stuff, but sadly they don´t have that much nail polish ...maybe it´ll change :) I got: O.P.I - Suzi & the Lifeguard (rosĂ©) and Lincoln Park at Midnight, a beautiful dark purple. What I´m also excited about, is the fact that one of my colleagues works with AVON and I can buy some awesome polishes from there :) I got Sequined Turquoise to test out their polishes, and it´s beautiful!
These 3 beauties I got mailed by my mom, along with some other cool things and some back-up bottles of my favorite Essence polishes :) It´s Essence - Blue Addicted , Sally Hansen - Brick Wall (it was only 50cents !) and Essence Remix your Style - Love TC.
Okey, and now here is Avon Sequined Turquoise, my new favorite polish! (Catrice - Forget-me-not, you´re now on the second place! :D)
I won´t talk to much about it, because there are no words for this beauty!
Application = great !
Coats = 2 (no TC)
Like what you see? :) Let me know about other must-have Avon polishes, if you know any! ;)
 Have a good night! :-*

P.S.: No choosing numbers today, because I broke one of my nails badly and I´ll wear only neutral colors til it grows out a little bit :( Sorry!
