31 Day NA Challenge - Day 20: Water Marble

Hello again!

Here is yesterday's challenge...which I absolutely HATE! I hate water marbling... it's just so much work, such a nail polish waste (because you use a lot) and it never works for me! (and of course the clean-up is a pain in the a**)

But here it is (only as an accent nail):

I used Milani 3D Holographic - 510 3D as a base and for the marbling itself, plus S-he 303.

I did my ring finger 4 times (!!) until it looked like that. The thumb was ok after the first time :P

In my eyes the result is not worth all the effort you put in, but I have to say that I really admire those girls who pull off such gorgeous water marbling nail art!
You are really talented - and patient xD

That's it, thanks for reading!
See ya later with today's challenge (finally :D)

Summer Challenge - Ocean/Sea

Hello again! :)
As promised, here is the other challenge mani with the theme: Ocean/Sea

I had no idea what to do ... and then I just thought about doing something really simple...and what do I do? I go for a water marble - really simple, I know =)) But I only did it on the tips...so it's a water marbled french :) Of course with different shades of blue to represent the ocean:

It reminds me of one of my favorite things: the movement of the water when you go by ship and watch the water behind the ship...phew, hard to explain =)) This is what I mean:

First 2 pics are from a vacation in Greece last year and the last one is from the epic vacation in Croatia I talked about here ;) I love the ocean

And more awesome manis from talented ladies after the jump! ;)

My first Water Marbling !

Yea, I did it :D I wanted to try that for a very long time, but I never had the patience to do it.
The queen of water marbling is still Colette, you should really check out her blog, too!
Well, i thought, what could be so difficult?  Let´s try it ! But first you have to prepare everything; you will need:
acetone, some cotton swabs (to clean up the mess^^), scotch tape, scissors, a plastic cup, water and of course some nail polishes ;) To create the designs in the water I used some toothpicks :)
I will not explain how to do this, cause there are hundred of videos on youtube and many bloggers, who really know what they´re doing ;)
So..let´s move on: I used my new nailpolish from Essence : Can´t cheat on me (57) as a base color. Its a grey polish with some shimmer...aaand it´s a holo! It´s only visible in the sun, but it´s beautiful! ;)
For the marbling I used Essence - Enchanted Fairy (36) (light pink), Catrice - Poison me, poison you! (110) (beautiful purple) and the base color. I love the names of Essence nail polishes, they´re so cute :D
And here is the result:
I think it´s pretty good for the first time ;)
And a sunlight picture:
To see the holo, click the picture to enlarge it ;)
And the left hand...i kinda like that one more :P
And here are my personal favorites :
How do you like it ? :) I hope it stays on pretty long :D

Well, that´s it for today my dear readers ;)
Have a nice weekend ! *muah*
