Valentine's Day Challenge - Roses

Hello my dear readers!

I had something completely different in mind for today, but since I am at my bf right now I didn't take so much polish with me .. and of course not the things I needed for the challenges! :))

So I recreated -this tutorial- and it turned out better than expected:

I used only Essence polishes: Black is Back, Snow Alert!, Back to the 50's and Roller Coaster.

For the first time I did 2 accent nails, because I saw it on many blogs and I kinda liked the idea :)
What do you guys think of the 2 accent trend?

Thanks for reading and make sure to check out the other girls as well!

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 26: Inspired by a Pattern

Hello my dear readers!

Today I have a beautiful mani for you! I am simply in love with everything - the design, how the colors look together and how eye-catching it is!

I wanted to try out a chevron pattern for so long now and I felt like this would be the perfect opportunity for it :) And here it is:

I used Barry M - Peach Melba, let it dry and added some tape to create the chevron pattern. Then I applied Catrice - Goldfinger on top of it and that's it!

Chevron pattern is such a beautiful nail art design and you can do so many different color combinations with it! It is definitely one of my favorite mani's ever!

Thanks for reading and see you soon! <3

Valentine's Day Challenge - Glitter Hearts

Hello again! :)

Today is already the third challenge out of 6! How time flies :D
I wanted to do some crazy make-up, I already had 1-2 ideas, but I'm still so sick...my nose is red and my skin is so dry from all the tissues I had to use and I don't feel like doing make-up at all ^^

But I will do one for the next challenge, I promise ;)

For today I have some cute little glitter hearts for you:

I used Essence Black is Back as a base and painted the hearts on with Art de Lautrec 18 first, because the red glitter polish I wanted to use is pretty sheer! Finally I added Avon Ruby Slippers on top of the red and finished it with one coat of TC.

It's simple and with some little fantasy you can see the hearts! :D Looking at the nails now I realize they could have been more sparkly and glittery!

Hope you still like them :)

Thanks for reading my lovelies and see ya soon! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

Hello beauties!

I have such a luck sometimes... I arrived at my boyfriend's place on Wednesday and now I'm so sick, I just stay in bed all day long and feel miserable. Why, oh universe, why??

Nonetheless I have a post for you today! Today's challenge was pretty easy actually - I just searched Google for some fashion inspiration and one of the first pics caught my eye immediately!

(Source: Google)
And here is my mani inspired by the look above:

For this nail art I used only Essence polishes, which are: Snow Alert!, Black is Back and Back to the 50's (50's Girls Reloaded LE).

I don't know why, but once I had finished the mani I thought it would look awesome in matte. So I added one coat of Essence Matte TC - and I have to say I like the result!

Hope you like it and thanks for reading <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 24: Inspired by a Book

Hello my lovelies!

Today's challenge was difficult only because of one thing - I absolutely love books and didn't knew which one to choose :D
But the first one that came to mind is a book by Frank Schätzing - Der Schwarm (engl. title: The Swarm), which is one of my absolute favorite ones! I can only recommend it, if you like science-fiction and thrillers!

The nail art is inspired by the book cover and here it is:

I used Essence Black is back as a base and painted the blue iris with Essence Just Rock it! and Sensique Lakier Sky Blue (and a few mixtures of those 2 colors!).

The hardest thing was to draw a perfect circle haha :D

Tell me, what is your favorite book/author or genre?

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 23: Inspired by a Movie

Hello beauties!

Since 50 Shades of Grey will be released in a few days, I thought I'd do some nail art inspired by this movie :P I read the book as well and I'll go and see the movie with a friend once it comes out ..Yes, I admit it! :D

Here it is:

I used Essence Got a secret and Essence You're a Heartbraker (50's Girls Reloaded LE) for the gradient (plus a little bit of Technic - Silver holo). On the ring finger I painted on a tie with Essence Moonless Night (Dark Romance LE) and did the accents with the same silver holo polish that I used before. (This polish doesn't have a name!)

I incorporated some grey's, but I'm far from 50 shades! :D And of course a tie, because he almost always wears one! (And it's on the book cover as well)

Hope you like it!
And tell me, will you go see the movie? ;)

See ya soon and thanks for reading!

Valentine's Day Challenge - Romantic Lace

Hello my lovelies!

Today starts the Valentine's Day Challenge that Kaki and me created! I'm so excited to see what all the girls come up with :D

My plan was to create both make-up and nail art for every challenge, but I realized today this will be pretty hard! I sometimes don't have that many ideas :D

So here is my romantic lace inspired mani:

I used Catrice Must Have STEELetto, a gorgeous light purple metallic, as a base, a lace-like image from an Essence Stamping plate and Konad Black Nail Polish.
I didn't stamp the image on the nail, but instead I created nail decals and just put them on the nail where I wanted them. It's much more easier that way! If you wanna see a tutorial on this technique just let me know ;)

To make the line more smooth I added some dots with the same Konad polish and finished it with a layer of TC.

I wanted to do some lace pattern around the eyes as well, but I didn't manage to do it... I don't have such a thin brush to create such a look. So instead I used the same metallic purple eye shadow to match it with the nails:

Products I used:
- P2 Perfect Eyes Base
- P2 Intensive Kohl Eyeliner 020 Cool Alaska
- BH Galaxy Chic (Color: Cosmic)
- Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 (Colors: Villan + Pillow Talk)
- Catrice Absolute Matt Palette
- P2 Glow Up Highlighter - High Beam
- Maybelline Gel Eyeliner 01 Black
- Astor Seduction Codes Mascara
- Catrice Single Lashes (on outer corner)

The eye shadow is much more similar to the nail polish in real life and much more shimmery too.
I hope you like it and don't forget to check out the other ladies as well!

Thanks for reading! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 22: Inspired by a song

Hello my dear readers!

The minute I saw the title of today's challenge I knew what song I would pick!
Sia's Elastic Heart is one of my absolute favorites these days, the song and lyrics are beautiful and every time I see the music video I get goose bumps.

My mani was inspired by the cage you can see in the video and their clothes (which are almost non-existent^^):

I applied P2 - Flirt & Tease as a base and sponged over it with P2- Soulful and Essence - Got a secret. For the ring finger I used the same base, Essence Moonless Night for the cage and Essence Got a secret for the highlights.

If you don't know the song or the video, just -click here- to go directly to the clip :)

Hope you like it! Thanks for reading <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 19: Galaxies

Good morning my lovelies!

I finally can post the Galaxy Nails for the challenge and it was fun creating them! I only did this style once before -here-, but I really have to do it more often - it looks so amazing!

For this mani I used only Essence polishes! So, I started off with It's raining men! as a base and sponged with Snow Alert!, Roller Coaster and Oh my Glitter! randomly all over it.
For the little stars I also used Essence Snow Alert!.

Love how it came out!

Thanks for reading and see ya later with yesterday's challenge: water marble! ;)

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 18: Half Moons

And hello again ;)

Today's challenge is half moons and here is my take on it:

I used Barry M Raspberry as a base and Essence Black is Back on top to create the half moons.

I'm not a big fan of this kind of mani..maybe if I add glitter to the half moons next time? I'll certainly give it a try :)

Tell me, do you like to wear this type of manicure?

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 16: Geometric Nails

Hello my dear readers!

I have such a headache that I thought about skipping today's nail art but I was so excited about it, because I love geometric and symmetric stuff...so I just couldn't :D

Here it is:

I used Essence Roller Coaster as a base and Essence Black is Back for the Stripes - and yes this is freehand! :P

My hand was shaking a bit, so it's not absolutely perfect but I love it!
The index finger is a little bit messy though, sorry for that!

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! :)

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 14 (+15?): Flowers

Hello my lovelies!

I knew I would suck at this challenge xD It's hard posting everyday!

Yesterday the challenge was flowers and today it's delicate print. I was sure I had some stamping plates with a nice delicate lace print or something like that, but I was mistaken.. And since I don't have any other delicate stamping images I thought the flower mani would suit both these themes.

Flowers are delicate and beautiful, right? :D So here it is:

I used Sensique Lakier Sky Blue as a base and painted the flowers on with Essence Snow Alert and Essence Glamorous Life and a wide flat brush. (The same I used for the flowers -here-)

(with flash)

I really like how these came out because of the color combination - but flowers are not something you will see on my nails very often ;)

Thanks for reading and see ya later with my 365 Days Photo Challenge post!

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 13: Animal Print

Hello, my dear readers!

Quick post today, I'm not feeling very well and I did my nails just a few minutes ago, so I am sorry for the late post.

Today's challenge is Animal Print and anybody who knows me, knows that I adore animal prints! I even have a zebra print on the walls and of course clothing etc.
But I decided to do a leopard print instead of zebra ;)

I used Essence Plum Perfect as a base, Essence Candy Crush for the light spots and Essence Black is Back for the outlines.

I love colorful animal prints on my nails, that's why I rarely go with the classic colors :P

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 11+12: Dots & Stripes

Hello my lovelies!

Yes I did it again ... I cheated! But I promise it won't happen anymore (at least not that much :D )

I combined challenge 11 and 12 and created a design with both dots and stripes :)

I used Artdeco 316 as a base, a really nice dark aubergine shade, and added dots with Catrice On Top of the Alpes and stripes with Essence Hello Holo.

I really like how it came out although it wasn't planned like this .. at all! I changed the design while I was painting it and that's the result :P

Hope you like it and thanks for reading! <3

31 Days NA Challenge - Day 7: Black & White

Good morning!

I thought 3 posts are too much for one evening so I decided to post it in the morning instead :)

This was actually the challenge for Friday - black & white nails!

I started off with 2 coats of Essence Snow Alert! (from the Mountain Calling LE) and used a long and thin nail art brush to paint the black areas with Essence Black is Back afterwards.

Initially I wanted to use tape to do this design, but I didn't had the patience to wait until the polish was completely dry on my nails :D

Thanks for reading my lovelies!

See ya later with today's challenge which will be very colorful :)

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 8: Metallic Nails

Hello my lovelies!

I have to do 3 posts today, so this one will be a short one :D

Today's challenge is metallic nails and don't worry, I will post yesterday's challenge later ;) I didn't forget about it! :D

I started with Avon Gunmetal as a base (perfect for the metallic challenge don't you think?) and with a thin and long nail art brush I added Essence BBC Golden Sands in a triangular shape.

Doesn't it look like some molten gold is running down the nails? This polish is amazing!

I will really miss this polish when the bottle will be empty :(
Do you know any other golden polishes that look similar? Please tell me :D

Thanks for reading and see ya later! :)

31 Days NA Challenge - Day 6: Violet Nails

Hello!

Sorry for posting this one day later, but I didn't feel well yesterday. The nails were done, the pictures were taken and then I just didn't had the patience to edit the pics and blog about it.

Nevermind, here it is - yesterday's challenge: violet nails!

I used Catrice Forget-Me-Not, my all time favorite purple polish! I added some random dots & stripes with Essence Black is Back and Essence Icy Princess.

Old readers now that I used to do this nail art every time I didn't know what to do :D It's just because it is so easy to do and still looks interesting!
(I did a tutorial on this before -here-)

That's it! Thanks for reading :)

P.S.: I don't know if I can post today's challenge later, because I have to go to a birthday party - but I'll try! :)

31 Days NA Challenge - Day 4: Green Nails

Hey guys!

It's so strange to post every single day, after I didn't post for so long :D But it's fun! And today I have the fourth challenge for you, which is green nails :)

I applied 3 thin coats of Flormar Neon N007 as a base and used a small nail art brush to draw that wavy pattern with P2 Green Palm Tree (from the Summer Attack LE).

Hope you like it!

Thanks for reading <3

Nail Art of the Day: Stripy Gradient

Hello my lovelies!

Finally I am home :) I met with a dear friend of mine and after talking a lot and eating sushi and stuff we just decided to wash our cars at 9 pm - we are crazy like that :D

The following nail art (if you are following me on Facebook you already saw a pic of it) is what I wanted to post yesterday, but I was too tired to do my nails so here it is one day later ;)

The polishes I used from right to left:
China Glaze - Ruby Pumps, Essence - Black is Back, Catrice - On Top of the Alps, Essence TC Better Than Gel Nails

First I started with a simple black to white gradient and let it dry.
If you are not familiar with this technique yet, just check out the tutorial from Sammy @The Nailasaurus - it is still the best one out there! :)

After it was dry enough to tape it, I just did exactly that. I used those tiny nail art tapes to tape off 3-4 stripes and applied a coat of Ruby Pumps all over the nail.
I don't like to let it sit too much, so I immediately removed the tape and moved on to the next nail.

After all nails were done I just finished it off with the Essence TC and voilĂ !

If you ever saw China Glaze's Ruby Pumps in real life you know what a beautiful sparkly red it is, too bad it doesn't show all its beauty on camera ;)

I hope you like it!

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! <3

Finally back for good: Frosty Winter Nail Art + Essence Snow Jam Swatch

Hello my dear followers!

Gosh how much I missed you guys <3 I made so many promises this year to come back to blogging but so many things happened... a big personal loss recently made it even harder for me to concentrate on my hobbies.
I finally feel like I have the motivation to do this and it also will be a wonderful distraction :)

I don't even know where to start :o
I made some little changes to the blog (more will come probably), I extended my Etsy shop and do nail polish jewelry now as well and the biggest change might be my hair color. No more red for me, my hair is now a beautiful black :) I actually thought about renaming the blog, but that would just confuse most of the people so I let it be the way it is! Maybe one day .. :P

Let's start with today's post, shall we? :3

Now that its getting cold I thought I'd show you a frosty manicure :) I used Essence - Life is a Freeride from the Snow Jam LE (from last year I think) as a base for a pretty simple nail art.
First, here is swatch of this gorgeous blue shimmer polish:

I used 2 coats, although 1 would have been enough as well. The application was flawless, but that's pretty normal for Essence polishes right? :)

And then I added some random stripes down from the base (with Essence Icy Princess).

(Please excuse the tip wear, took the photo a few days later)

Like I said, the stripes are random, they don't have to be straight at all but of course you can do them more straight to create the effect of icicles ;)

At first it looked like fire to me, but with the shimmery blue this mani has a touch of frosty winter to it, don't you think?

As always I would love to hear your thoughts on this, so leave me a comment! :)

See you guys soon <3
