Valentine's Day Challenge - Romantic Lace

Hello my lovelies!

Today starts the Valentine's Day Challenge that Kaki and me created! I'm so excited to see what all the girls come up with :D

My plan was to create both make-up and nail art for every challenge, but I realized today this will be pretty hard! I sometimes don't have that many ideas :D

So here is my romantic lace inspired mani:

I used Catrice Must Have STEELetto, a gorgeous light purple metallic, as a base, a lace-like image from an Essence Stamping plate and Konad Black Nail Polish.
I didn't stamp the image on the nail, but instead I created nail decals and just put them on the nail where I wanted them. It's much more easier that way! If you wanna see a tutorial on this technique just let me know ;)

To make the line more smooth I added some dots with the same Konad polish and finished it with a layer of TC.

I wanted to do some lace pattern around the eyes as well, but I didn't manage to do it... I don't have such a thin brush to create such a look. So instead I used the same metallic purple eye shadow to match it with the nails:

Products I used:
- P2 Perfect Eyes Base
- P2 Intensive Kohl Eyeliner 020 Cool Alaska
- BH Galaxy Chic (Color: Cosmic)
- Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 (Colors: Villan + Pillow Talk)
- Catrice Absolute Matt Palette
- P2 Glow Up Highlighter - High Beam
- Maybelline Gel Eyeliner 01 Black
- Astor Seduction Codes Mascara
- Catrice Single Lashes (on outer corner)

The eye shadow is much more similar to the nail polish in real life and much more shimmery too.
I hope you like it and don't forget to check out the other ladies as well!

Thanks for reading! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 11+12: Dots & Stripes

Hello my lovelies!

Yes I did it again ... I cheated! But I promise it won't happen anymore (at least not that much :D )

I combined challenge 11 and 12 and created a design with both dots and stripes :)

I used Artdeco 316 as a base, a really nice dark aubergine shade, and added dots with Catrice On Top of the Alpes and stripes with Essence Hello Holo.

I really like how it came out although it wasn't planned like this .. at all! I changed the design while I was painting it and that's the result :P

Hope you like it and thanks for reading! <3

31 Days NA Challenge - Day 6: Violet Nails

Hello!

Sorry for posting this one day later, but I didn't feel well yesterday. The nails were done, the pictures were taken and then I just didn't had the patience to edit the pics and blog about it.

Nevermind, here it is - yesterday's challenge: violet nails!

I used Catrice Forget-Me-Not, my all time favorite purple polish! I added some random dots & stripes with Essence Black is Back and Essence Icy Princess.

Old readers now that I used to do this nail art every time I didn't know what to do :D It's just because it is so easy to do and still looks interesting!
(I did a tutorial on this before -here-)

That's it! Thanks for reading :)

P.S.: I don't know if I can post today's challenge later, because I have to go to a birthday party - but I'll try! :)

Grey leopard at the lake . . .

Hello again! :D

The title of this post may seem a bit weird, but it suits the mani :) I had a leopard pattern on my nails for a couple of days and on one of them I went to the lake with some friends... hence the title ;) Here it is:

Of course I took a picture while I was sunbathing there ;)

And here it is at home! I used: Essence - Movie Star, Essence - Back to Black and Rimmel - Your Majesty.

It was a really fun day at the lake...here are some pictures:

We also played some Uno :D I think I won only 1 game, that's when I had the time to take the picture, lol =))

Have a good night, my lovelies! xx

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - Rue/District 11

Hellooooo! :D

Finally I managed to do a design based on Rue! I know someone requested it and here it is! It's kind of a mani for District 11 and Rue. Since she is representing District 11, the district of agriculture, I thought it would be perfect to combine these 2. I don't wanna spoil the movie/book for someone who hasn't seen or read it yet, so I won't say too much, but the ones who already saw the film or read the book, will know by what I was inspired ;) ... I hope :P

This is how I pictured the whole "scene" around Rue, while I read that passage in the book :)
I only used a dotting tool and these polishes:
NC Matte - Nr. 4 (base), Art de Lautrec - 200 (white), Flormar U09 (purple), Flormar U24 (pink) and Milani 3D Holographics - HD.
This could also be a good spring manicure :) I'm not completely satisfied about how this turned out, but I hope you like it and let me know, what manicure you would have done for Rue. I'm curious! :D
And the flowers kinda reminded me of this ring I have :)
So! Since I got some more ideas for this series and some of you want to see more, I will post 3-4 more designs, but I will post swatches or something else in between as well. Is that alright? :)

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! :)

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - District 3

Hello again!
How are you all doing ?
I promised another district inspired manicure, so here it is! I chose District 3 for today, the district of technology.
Do you see the gear wheels in the poster? I knew I had to do them on my nails, the minute I saw them :) Here they are:
I used: Avon - Gunmetal, Rimmel - Your Majesty, P2 - Dramatic Black and a dotting tool. :)
I really like how this turned out! And it was easy to do too ;)
What do you wanna see next ? Any preferences ? :)
I'm still trying to do the mutts, so they won't be next, sorry! Maybe I should try to do Rue?

Zipper Manicure

Hey guys!
Today I got a quick and simple yet eye-catching design for you! To me it looks like a big zipper, but I'm sure there are many other interpretations too :D I got the idea from this manicure by Nicole @ Nail Polish Wars. Go ahead and check her awesome blog out! But come back to see my manicure as well! :P
I used: Milani 3D Holographics in HD and O.P.I - Swimsuit ... Nailed it! This is one of my favorite color combinations now ;)
It's a very easy and yet so cool design, I love it !

Btw: I added some extra ways to follow my blog on the right side bar, since GFC will soon not be working anymore. I am also on bloglovin now! A really cool way to follow your favorite blogs ;)

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! :)

My Birthday Mani!!

Yep, it's my birthday today and I am now 20 years old :P
Since I like purple so much, it had to be in my birthday mani and I also wanted to create a dotted manicure for Sarah's contest over at Chalkboard Nails, so I created this design:
It kinda looks like fireworks...or flowers? Or maybe just like random dots? :D Or maybe like a little birthday cake seen from above ... there are so many possibilities :P
As required I created this manicure only with a dotting tool and different shades of purple.
Did you enter Sarah's contest? Or do you plan to? I would love to know! :D

I am now going with my mum to my favorite Chinese/Mongolian restaurant in the city! It has become kind of a tradition :P And since I can eat again, it will be fun =))
Here is another picture of my silly cat :D
Hope you have a fabulous day!! :-*

New Years Eve manicure :)

I wish you all a ...
May 2012 bring you much joy and happiness and may it be even better than 2011 ;)

I planned to post my new years eve mani yesterday, but I was very busy, so here it is today on the first day of the year :D
I was inspired by a mani I saw once on OMG Polish' Em! and I just love it!! Now I finally had the time to do it :D Initially I wanted to use other colors, but this ones matched my outfit better ... this way  it also comes even closer to the inspiration picture :P
I used: Avon - Gunmetal (as a base), Essence - Can't cheat on me (sponged over Avon), Essence Glitter Topper - Hello Holo and Art de Lautrec in Black (dots)
Blurry picture to show you the pretty holo glitter! :D As always it's so much better in real life :P
Now some of you may say.."wait a minute! I now that dotted image!" Yes you do :D It's from the Konad image plate M60. Since I don't own it I had to use a dotting tool...but let's be honest, even if I'd own it I wouldn't be able to stamp a clear image :)))
I love it so much that I don't want to take it off :D

Hope you like it and I wish you all a good start in this year!
See ya next time ;)

Christmas Challenge Day 4 - Snowman

Hello, my dear readers! :)
Sorry for posting so late, but I went on a short trip to Hungary and I came back later than expected :P
Today's theme is Snowman! I'd love to build one right now, but we have no snow here, because the weather decided to make it so warm like in spring outside :))
Does it snow where you live?
This design was made in a hurry, but I like it :D
I used: Sensique 252 as a base and Art de Lautrec - White, Essence - Get the Fever, Avon - Ruby Slippers and Essence - Fatal.
I'm excited to see the other cute snowmen, made by these ladies:
It's so fun watching everyone's designs and interpretations of the themes. :D
Well, have a good night now! See ya ;)

Christmas Challenge Day 2 - Snowflakes

It snowed! Last night when I went to bed, I looked for a second out the window and couldn't believe it: it all was white! I love it :D Well, today's theme is perfect for this weather: Snowflakes! And here is my mani:
I think I associate snow with night. :D I just love when it snows at night and everything is quiet and peaceful, and you can see the snowflakes under the streetlights ...beautiful!  I think it's my favorite time of the year :)

That's why I used a black background and silver Snowflakes :) After applying Essence - Fabuless as a base, I used 1 coat of Farmasi 79, a silver glitter, to make it a bit shinny, and then I draw the Snowflakes with the Essence Tip Painter - Silver Surfer. I added some dots with the same silver, representing the Snowflakes that are more far away :P
I hope you like it! Because I really love this manicure :P
Check out the other ladies and their designs !

Have a lovely Friday! :-*

Christmas Challenge Day 1 - Snowfall

It's December the 1st, that means the Challenge begins! :D As the title says, the theme for today is Snowfall. I'll try to keep it short, cause today is the Great Union Day, the national holiday in Romania and I will spend it with some friends. :)
So here is the base for my manicure:
I created a gradient with: Essence - I'm a Marine Girl (dark blue), Sensique - Lakier Sky Blue and P2 - Divine. I used a white base (Essence - Ahoy!) to make the colors pop more ;) As much as I love gradients, they never turn out great on my nails. The colors didn't blend that well together, and the cleaning up afterwards was a mess, but oh well, it still looks pretty. :) I tried to picture the dark night sky, the fog and the snow-covered ground. All the colors I used are shimmers and it looks beautiful in real life, but it doesn't show on the pictures... maybe a little bit on the second picture? :P
And for the falling snow I just used the same white, that I used as a base and added random sized dots all over the nails.
It does look like snow, doesn't it ? :D
I can't wait to see all the other designs of these lovely ladies that joined the Challenge:
Kaki, Steffi, Salpi, Shannara, Kirshten and of course paint that nail, who started all this :D
(These are just the ones I know, I'm sure there are a lot of other bloggers that joined :P)
So much for "keeping it short" =)))
See ya tomorrow with another frosty manicure ;)

Nail Art Tutorial: Random Dots & Stripes

Hello everybody!
It´s Saturday! How is your weekend so far? :) I have a new nail art tutorial for you guys! :DLet´s start !
Step 1 : After applying your base color (I chose black and silver to have a better contrast), take a small brush and start painting random stripes. You can start at the base, or at the tip ... it´s totally up to you :)

Step 2 : Since it´s random, the lines can be straight, round or wavy. I like to alternate the stripes a little bit :)

Step 3 : Basically you can paint as many stripes as you wish, but keep in mind, there has to be some space left for your dots! :)

Step 4: After you´ve finished your stripes place some dots along them. Alternate smaller and bigger dots to make it look more random :)

And that´s it! Pretty simple right ? It´s a great design for beginners, because you can do what you want...just go crazy with your dots and stripes :D

If you wanna make it look more fun, you can use more colors for the stripes/dots. I did my nails both ways, so you can see how it looks.
I could use that as a full manicure as well :D
I love this Nail Art, because you can´t do anything wrong with it ;)
If you recreate this design, I would love to see it ! :)
(Btw: You don´t have to have a blog to show me your recreation....just send me an email with your picture:) If I get a few, I could do a post on them! Sounds like a good idea, right? Let me know what you think!)

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend! :-*

Nail Art Tutorial: Butterfly Wings

Heeey!
How are you all doing? I´m a little late with the tutorial, but all of my plans for the day were messed up by one package... I will tell you about that another time ;)
Let´s get started!
Step 1 : After applying your base coat and your base color of your choice, draw a rounded line on the right or the left side near your cuticles. Draw another line like that, but this time near the tip of the nail. The more further away the line is from the other one, the longer are your "wings".

Step 2 : With the second set of stripes we are connecting those two lines we draw before and defining the wing a little bit more :) I like to do 3 stripes to have 4 colored parts, but you can do more or less :)

Step 3 : Now the end of those colored parts (I will name them petals now :D) are to cornered, so we have to round them. I start from one side of the petal and draw a round line to the center of it and then do the same thing on the other side. I hope I described it good enough :P

Step 4 : Fill in the tip of the nail with the same color you used for the lines.
Basically you´re done with the hard part ;) Now comes the fun! ;)
Step 5 : Dots !! I just love them :D Start the first line of dots between the petals. Use a white polish for this to make a really good contrast :)

Step 6 : Do the second line of dots between the other dots, I don´t know how to describe it, but I think you get the idea from the photo. :)

Step 7 : Just place the dots til the end of your nail. You could do more or less dots, that´s up to you! :)

Step 8 : Finish it off with a TC and you are done !

This design takes some time, but it´s totally worth it ! You can experiment with some color combinations, maybe a gradient under the black polish .. just be creative :)

And here´s a example, how the end-result can look:
(the picture is from one of my previous posts)
I hope it was helpful to some of you, and if you recreate this design, let me know in your comments ;)
Have a good night and sweet dreams! :-*

Nail Art Tutorial: Dots and Dots

Hello, my dear readers!
It´s Saturday and as usual, here is another tutorial for you :) I saw this design on youtube, so go and check out the video tutorial if you like ;)  It´s very easy to do, so let´s get started!

Step 1:  You will need a total of 3 color for this design, I used: Essence - You belong to me (base), Essence - White Hype and Essence - Trust in Fashion. After applying your base color, grab a small Nail Art brush and draw some lines with the other 2 colors. I can fit only 3 lines on my nail, but you can draw 4 lines if you want to :)

Step 2: Now grab a dotting tool and make some big dots along the lines. My white polish was a bit thick, so the dots aren´t that perfect and round as they should be :P While placing the dots, make sure to leave enough space between them, so that the dots on the other line can fit in the gaps :)

Step 3: We´re almost done! :) Just put some smaller dots inside the big ones, with the other color you used for the lines. Let it dry a bit and finish it off with a TC.

In the end it should look like this:
I hope it was helpful and let me know if you try it ! :)
Have a great weekend! :-*

Reader´s Choice: Catrice - Just Married

Hello my lovelies! :)
As always, I asked you yesterday for a number, and the first comment was from Elizedge, and she chose number 17! On my list, that´s Catrice - Just married! Thank you! I really love this color and I´m so mad at Catrice, that they discontinued this shade and many others, just to replace it with other ones, under the same number and name. Come on! Couldn´t they at least take other names for the new polishes ?! Anyways, I swatched this color -->here<--. I wanted to add something to it, and I was very clueless, til I saw my dotting tool laying around on my desk :P So I added some silver dots, and I must say: I really like the combination of this colors! The silver polish I used is S-he 471.
Simple but cute! Hope you like it ;)
Good night and see ya next time ! :-*

Reader´s Choice: Catrice - Lavender Breeze

Hello!
So, the first and only comment with a number was from Paulina, and she chose number 8! :P Counting down my list, that would be: Catrice - Lavender Breeze. Thanks Paulina :D First I wasn´t sure what to do with that color, so I swatched it and later on I added some Nail Art.
This is 1 coat, and I added this picture to show you how this polish really looks on the nails, cause with 2 coats it looks like any other polish :P I don´t know how to describe it, but every time I apply it, it´s like the paint you apply on your walls :D
And even with 2 coats it doesn´t look good :P This is a polish you just can´t wear on it´s own! It´s streaky and you have to be careful with the application :) Aaaand it´s called Lavender Breeze, but even with a lot of fantasy you can´t see a hint of lavender in this polish...it´s just white :)
I had to add some NA to it, but I had no idea what, so I just added some random stripes and dots, kinda like in this post: -->click here<-- That´s what I always do, when I have no idea what Nail Art to do on my nails :)
Thanks for reading and have a great day! :-*
