Valentine's Day Challenge - Glitter Hearts

Hello again! :)

Today is already the third challenge out of 6! How time flies :D
I wanted to do some crazy make-up, I already had 1-2 ideas, but I'm still so sick...my nose is red and my skin is so dry from all the tissues I had to use and I don't feel like doing make-up at all ^^

But I will do one for the next challenge, I promise ;)

For today I have some cute little glitter hearts for you:

I used Essence Black is Back as a base and painted the hearts on with Art de Lautrec 18 first, because the red glitter polish I wanted to use is pretty sheer! Finally I added Avon Ruby Slippers on top of the red and finished it with one coat of TC.

It's simple and with some little fantasy you can see the hearts! :D Looking at the nails now I realize they could have been more sparkly and glittery!

Hope you still like them :)

Thanks for reading my lovelies and see ya soon! <3

31 Day NA Challenge - Day 9 + 10: Gradient Rainbow Nails

Hello my sweet readers!

I told my followers on facebook yesterday that I'm going to cheat a little with the challenge and combine Day 9 and 10 and do a rainbow gradient! :D

Phew, let me tell you that was some work... but 16 polishes and a lot of sponging later, here it is:

I basically used the same polishes I once used for my first rainbow mani -here- , but I decided to top it all with Essence Hello Holo!

I wasn't happy at all how they turned out.. the gradient is not the best I ever did, but with the glitter on top it looks gorgeous and now I really love it :)

Thanks for reading!

See ya tomorrow with the next challenge ;)

Summer Challenge - Ocean/Sea

Hello again! :)
As promised, here is the other challenge mani with the theme: Ocean/Sea

I had no idea what to do ... and then I just thought about doing something really simple...and what do I do? I go for a water marble - really simple, I know =)) But I only did it on the tips...so it's a water marbled french :) Of course with different shades of blue to represent the ocean:

It reminds me of one of my favorite things: the movement of the water when you go by ship and watch the water behind the ship...phew, hard to explain =)) This is what I mean:

First 2 pics are from a vacation in Greece last year and the last one is from the epic vacation in Croatia I talked about here ;) I love the ocean

And more awesome manis from talented ladies after the jump! ;)

Summer Challenge - Swimsuits

Hey!
Just a quick post for the Swimsuit-Challenge, because I have to prepare 5 more posts today :))

I thought about doing actual swimsuits on my nails and then I remembered my favorite bikini! Some of you may know my favorite polish color is blue and so is my favorite bikini! Perfect! :D So here is the mani:

I used:
Sesnique - 252, Rimmel - Midnight Blue, Catrice - Blue Cara Ciao, Art de lautrec - White and Essence - Viva la Green.... and some blue striping tape! :)

I don't know why, but the polish bubbled like crazy on my middle finger...weird...anywaaays, here is the bikini I  was inspired by:

Love those colors

Wanna see more awesome manis? Click on the links right after the jump! ;)

Summer Challenge: Favorite Summer Memory

Phew this was a hard one! I only post it so late, because it took me so long to figure out what I wanna do with my nails =)) First off, it is really hard to find a favorite summer memory, because every summer happens something awesome, and second of all, how can you transfer a memory to your nails, right?

I managed it in the end :P One of my favorite summers ever was the the summer 2008, were me and my best friend went on a vacation on Young Island, Croatia. It was just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I will never forget those 2 weeks :)
I'll show you the mani and explain later what each design represents ;)

Explanation and the links after the jump!! ;)

Jeff Dunham Inspired Nails!

Jeff Dunham, who is this? Well, let me tell you! He is a pretty good and funny ventriloquist. This guy is just hilarious! And he has a lot of different puppets/characters. You may have heard of Achmed the dead terrorist? "SILENCE! I kill you !!" ... yep, that was him ;)
I think the most "popular" characters are Achmed, Walter, Peanut and Jalapeno on a Stick! Those are the best ones! It's amazing, how he can bring them to life, just using his voice. You really can't tell that he is the one speaking and not the dolls! :D
I actually thought about doing some Nail Art inspired by them, but never had a concrete idea. Once Cuti-CLUE-les asked me to do it, I kinda had to think of something!

Well, here are my nails I did, based on those characters:
Please forgive me, but I won't list up all the polishes I used, they're just too many! If you wanna know a specific one, you can just ask ;)
For the ones, who don't know the characters: index finger = Walter, middle finger = Achmed, ring finger = Peanut and pinkie = Jalapeno on a Stick!
I did a simple gradient on my thumb and Jeff Dunham's initials :)

For reference, here are the puppets and Jeff Dunham!!!

I'm not a 100% pleased about how my nails turned out, but I think I did o.k. :)
They actually looked better on my "blueprint", lol =))  Wanna see? All right then:
I don't usually do this, but with more complicated Nail Art I like to do this first, just to get an idea on how to start and what to use :)

Actually Cuti-CLUE-les requested these, but she also did some Jeff Dunham nails! She will post it soon on her blog, so make sure to check it out too!! :D

Thanks for reading, hope you like it!

Hunger Games Nail Art Series - Rue/District 11

Hellooooo! :D

Finally I managed to do a design based on Rue! I know someone requested it and here it is! It's kind of a mani for District 11 and Rue. Since she is representing District 11, the district of agriculture, I thought it would be perfect to combine these 2. I don't wanna spoil the movie/book for someone who hasn't seen or read it yet, so I won't say too much, but the ones who already saw the film or read the book, will know by what I was inspired ;) ... I hope :P

This is how I pictured the whole "scene" around Rue, while I read that passage in the book :)
I only used a dotting tool and these polishes:
NC Matte - Nr. 4 (base), Art de Lautrec - 200 (white), Flormar U09 (purple), Flormar U24 (pink) and Milani 3D Holographics - HD.
This could also be a good spring manicure :) I'm not completely satisfied about how this turned out, but I hope you like it and let me know, what manicure you would have done for Rue. I'm curious! :D
And the flowers kinda reminded me of this ring I have :)
So! Since I got some more ideas for this series and some of you want to see more, I will post 3-4 more designs, but I will post swatches or something else in between as well. Is that alright? :)

Thanks for reading and see ya soon! :)

New Years Eve manicure :)

I wish you all a ...
May 2012 bring you much joy and happiness and may it be even better than 2011 ;)

I planned to post my new years eve mani yesterday, but I was very busy, so here it is today on the first day of the year :D
I was inspired by a mani I saw once on OMG Polish' Em! and I just love it!! Now I finally had the time to do it :D Initially I wanted to use other colors, but this ones matched my outfit better ... this way  it also comes even closer to the inspiration picture :P
I used: Avon - Gunmetal (as a base), Essence - Can't cheat on me (sponged over Avon), Essence Glitter Topper - Hello Holo and Art de Lautrec in Black (dots)
Blurry picture to show you the pretty holo glitter! :D As always it's so much better in real life :P
Now some of you may say.."wait a minute! I now that dotted image!" Yes you do :D It's from the Konad image plate M60. Since I don't own it I had to use a dotting tool...but let's be honest, even if I'd own it I wouldn't be able to stamp a clear image :)))
I love it so much that I don't want to take it off :D

Hope you like it and I wish you all a good start in this year!
See ya next time ;)

Christmas Challenge Day 5 - Snowman Face

Hello !! :D
I changed today's theme from "Snowman Face" to "Snowman in Love" =)))
So here we have Mr. Snowman and Mrs. Snowwoman, who love each other very much :P
I used Rimmel 198 Azure as a base, if you want to know one of the other colors I used, just ask ;) I'm too lazy to list them all up here :D
I had so much fun painting these 2 lovebirds ... do you like them? :)

Make sure to take a look at all the cute Snowmen on these blogs, too:

Have a good night and see ya tomorrow with some cute penguins :D

Christmas Challenge Day 4 - Snowman

Hello, my dear readers! :)
Sorry for posting so late, but I went on a short trip to Hungary and I came back later than expected :P
Today's theme is Snowman! I'd love to build one right now, but we have no snow here, because the weather decided to make it so warm like in spring outside :))
Does it snow where you live?
This design was made in a hurry, but I like it :D
I used: Sensique 252 as a base and Art de Lautrec - White, Essence - Get the Fever, Avon - Ruby Slippers and Essence - Fatal.
I'm excited to see the other cute snowmen, made by these ladies:
It's so fun watching everyone's designs and interpretations of the themes. :D
Well, have a good night now! See ya ;)

Nail Art Tutorial: Random Dots & Stripes

Hello everybody!
It´s Saturday! How is your weekend so far? :) I have a new nail art tutorial for you guys! :DLet´s start !
Step 1 : After applying your base color (I chose black and silver to have a better contrast), take a small brush and start painting random stripes. You can start at the base, or at the tip ... it´s totally up to you :)

Step 2 : Since it´s random, the lines can be straight, round or wavy. I like to alternate the stripes a little bit :)

Step 3 : Basically you can paint as many stripes as you wish, but keep in mind, there has to be some space left for your dots! :)

Step 4: After you´ve finished your stripes place some dots along them. Alternate smaller and bigger dots to make it look more random :)

And that´s it! Pretty simple right ? It´s a great design for beginners, because you can do what you want...just go crazy with your dots and stripes :D

If you wanna make it look more fun, you can use more colors for the stripes/dots. I did my nails both ways, so you can see how it looks.
I could use that as a full manicure as well :D
I love this Nail Art, because you can´t do anything wrong with it ;)
If you recreate this design, I would love to see it ! :)
(Btw: You don´t have to have a blog to show me your recreation....just send me an email with your picture:) If I get a few, I could do a post on them! Sounds like a good idea, right? Let me know what you think!)

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend! :-*

Reader´s Choice: S-he 195

Hello my dear readers! :)
The awesome polish I will show you in a second, was chosen on Tuesday by an Anonymous reader, who chose number 211 :) Thanks for that, whoever you are :D Number 211 is S-he 195, a very sheer red glitter polish, which reminds me of Christmas :P I knew immediately what I would do with that polish, and here it is:
BLOOD! :D Oke I know its Glitter-Blood, but still :P It´s perfect for Halloween ;)
I used: Art de Lautrec 21 (black), P2 - Open your Heart and S-he 195.
As I mentioned before, S-he 195 is very sheer, so I always use it as a glitter topper over a red polish.
In this second picture the red is color accurate :) There is so much glitter going on in real life, but I couldn´t capture it in the photo :(
Wanna know something funny? :D After I finished this manicure last night, I read some some new blog posts and I came across this manicure from Anutka. She did the same dripping manicure :D Cool coincidence, right? :P Make sure to visit her blog ;)

That´s it! Thanks for reading and have a great day .. I´m off to the Uni now ;)

Nail Art Monday Nr.2 - Patriotic Nails

Hello everyone!
First off: Happy 4th of July to everyone in the USA! :)
So today is another Nail Art Monday and the theme is 4th of July/Patriotic nails. The fb-group Polish-aholics Anonymous has many members from all over the world, that´s why we decided that the ones, not living in the USA, should do patriotic nails :) So since I´m from Romania, here is my patriotic nail design:
The pic above is taken with flashlight, to make the colors really pop out. First I wanted to do only the national flag, but then I thought I could do an accent nail as well :) The colors I used: P2 - Gigantic (blue), Essence - Sundancer (yellow), Farmasi - 45 (red) and the white base is Art de Lautrec - 200.
So that´s it for today, hope you like it :) Thanks for reading and see ya next time! :-*
